Introducing Fingible — The Google for NFTs to detect NFT duplicates, get NFT recommendations & more

CEO and co-founder of NFTPort

We are announcing the public release of Fingible, “the Google for NFTs”: a unique NFT search engine for Ethereum and Polygon NFTs.

Built as a product on top of NFTPort’s NFT infrastructure and APIs, you can run both keyword-based and AI-enabled reverse image search across multiple chains. The search engine also features a dedicated function for NFT counterfeit detection, tackling a growing problem for the NFT community.

Let’s take a closer look 👇🏼

Text Search

The first option is to run a Text Search, built on top of NFTPort’s “Multi-chain NFT search” endpoint. You can search all NFTs across Ethereum and Polygon (we are expanding to more chains) using a text query to return results from the name and description fields from the metadata of NFTs.

Reverse Image Search

You can upload an image or enter an URL to find NFTs that look similar

The second functionality is the Reverse Image Search, built on top of NFTPort’s Recommendations AI endpoints. This uses state of the art computer vision AI to match the input keywords or uploaded images against all Ethereum and Polygon NFT asset images. You can just enter a keyword or upload/copy a URL of a file, and Fingible returns images that are visually similar to the input.

Counterfeit Detection

The third functionality — Counterfeit Detection — is an AI-based anti-fraud tool to protect NFT creators, collectors and traders from getting scammed. NFTs are all about enabling true digital ownership — yet, there are many ways how fraudsters are cashing in on unsuspecting buyers.

There are currently no safeguards in place to validate if the ownership claims of certain NFTs hold true or if an NFT has been copied and sold on another chain or by someone else. For example, a bad actor can simply find a popular CryptoPunk, hit “Save as” on the JPEG, mint it together with convincing metadata descriptions and engage in some wash trading to make the NFT look legitimate.

With Fingible, NFT buyers and creators now have a tool validate whether a duplicate of an NFT has been minted and is being sold by someone else across multiple chains. The Counterfeit Detection function allows you to enter a know Contract Address and a Token ID or upload a picture to see if there are duplicates of the asset minted and sold on Ethereum and Polygon (we are expanding to more chains soon). Users can also use a filter to exclude specified contracts (i.e. collections) from the search.

This is the first anti-fraud tool of its kind, providing a necessary tool to raise consumer trust in the NFT market as a whole. The solution is built on top of NFTPort’s Duplicate Detection AI endpoints, applying computer vision AI to match the input image against all Ethereum and Polygon NFT images in our database based on a pre-defined similarity threshold (default 0.9).

Increase revenue and customer trust — build your own Fingible

We built Fingible to showcase some of the applications that can be achieved with using NFTPort’s NFT infrastructure and APIs that are combined with state of the art computer vision AI. As existing NFT discovery and search solutions are still quite limited, we see that our enhanced APIs can enable significant improvements for various NFT applications.

NFT developers can use NFTPort’s APIs to build or improve NFT applications and boost their revenue by increasing customer trust or onboard new creators and IP owners. The sky is the limit, but below are some of the use-cases:

  • quickly integrate NFT search to your application
  • provide a recommendation engine similar to Amazon, Netflix
  • build NFT validation mechanisms for consumer protection
  • credit and protect creators via processes that monitor IP and copyright theft
