On 26 May 2024, NFTPort will shut down.

We’re grateful for all our current and former users. We were one of the first to offer simple APIs for reading NFT data and minting NFTs, at a time when NFTs required immense infrastructure work before building a product. Unfortunately, we are forced to shut down NFTPort.

Why are we shutting down?

We regret to announce the shutdown of NFTPort. The NFT industry has encountered significant challenges, notably a race to the bottom in terms of take rates. These shifts have adversely affected our business model and our ability to provide the high-quality service developers deserve.

Despite our best efforts to adapt, financial and strategic constraints have led us to this difficult decision. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are deeply thankful for your support and inspiration throughout this journey, and it has been a privilege to assist with your NFT projects and ambitions.

Key takeaways

Paid subscribers will be refunded for the last 3 months of their subscription. You will be continue to be able to use NFTPort until the shutdown date mentioned above.

Users of NFT Data APIs should migrate to one of many alternatives: Alchemy, QuickNode, Moralis, and many more.

Users of NFT Contract & Minting APIs can continue using their contract, but now need to interact with those directly. Since you are the owner of your deployed NFT contract, you will continue to be able to use it — either using a block explorer UI like Etherscan, or scripting calls against your contract e.g. with web3.js.

Files you have uploaded to IPFS (including NFT images or metadata) will continue to be hosted by NFT.storage.

What’s next?

The team behind NFTPort will focus all their efforts on solving the three big problems that AI is facing today:

  • It's owned by only a large few monopolies which will lead to higher inequality
  • No-one has answers for long-term AI safety
  • Developers are facing a platform risk building on top of closed platforms

Thank you for your support and passion for NFTs. It's been an honor to grow with you. As we close this chapter, we look forward to new horizons. Please reach out with any questions during this transition—your feedback is invaluable.

Warmest regards and heartfelt thanks,The NFTPort Team
